#56 Lopers Begin NCAA Play, Weather Permitting, Tomorrow in St. Louis

Lopers in First-Ever NCAA Championships

Kearney, Neb. – The 56th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team starts play at the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships tomorrow in Eureka, Mo. The 18-team field will play a 54-hole tournament at the par 72 Fox Run G.C. (6,187 yards). The top eight teams after stroke play advance to a match play bracket (seeds 1-8) with the National Champion being crowned Saturday (May 20). Note rain is in the forecast for Tuesday so action may be delayed. All participants took part in a practice round on Monday. Fans can follow along with live results via Golf Stat. Live video will be only available on Friday and Saturday. UNK is scheduled to tee off Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m.; they are paired with 3rd-ranked Nova Southeastern (Fla.) and 8th-ranked Cal State San Marcos. Both of those teams placed third in their respective NCAA Regional, as did the Lopers. Tee times for the third round are based on where the teams stand after two days. Fourth-ranked Findlay (Ohio) is defending National Champs and won the East Region this spring. Lynn (Fla.) is currently ranked No. 1 with Dallas Baptist No.2. Besides the 18 teams, eight individuals are in attendance as well.
