Second Husband & Wife Team to Lead UNK Women’s Basketball
Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney head women's basketball coach Drew Johnson was formally introduced to the campus and Kearney communities today (May 11) with a press conference in the Weins Room of Ron & Carol Cope Stadium.
Check out our interview with him. Athletic Director Dr. Marc Bauer introduced Coach Johnson along with his wife, Nicole. Their sons, Dax and Cooper, are back in Kansas and are very excited to be coming to Kearney. After Bauer's comments, which included Nicole Ohlde-Johnson being named the Lopers new head assistant coach, Johnson spoke for about five minutes. Current members of the UNK team were in attendance as well as area media members and UNK head coaches and Athletic Department staff. Watch the press conference at The MIAA Network.
Johnson was named the eighth coach in program history on May 9 and replaces Carrie Eighmey who left to be the new head coach at Division I Idaho.
