The KLPR staff recently attended the Golden Leaf Awards and Convention at Concordia University in Seward. The staff sent sophomore Jon Willis, sophomore Ethan McCormick, senior Grant Tighe, and junior Traeton Harimon.
KLPR took home 9 total awards throughout the day.
Traeton Harimon and Alex Hammeke won best sports play by play for their women’s basketball game called on February 9th.
Jon Willis and Canon Rath were 2nd place in best sports play by play for their men’s basketball game called on January 5th.
Canon Rath, Jon Willis, Ethan McCormick, and Alex Hammeke won best audio sports story for their Loper Update released on October 27th.
Canon Rath, Jon Willis, Alex Hammeke, and Grant Tighe won 1st play for best audio pre-game or post-game show for their hour long Loper Gameday football pregame show.
Ethan McCormick earned 2nd place for best audio pre-game or post-game for his post-game show on October 1st.
Halla Paschold won 1st place for best audio feature story for “Focus on UNK.”
Jon Willis won 1st place in the audio promotional announcement category for “winter sports promo.”
KLPR took home 1st and 3rd in best audio public service announcement for the promotions “Hydration” and “Sugary Drinks.”
