Both UNK Teams Had a Banner Fall
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney cross country team has placed six men and four women on the 2022 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet. This year 328 men (110 different schools) and 417 (124 schools) made the cut.
UNK also earned "Team Academic" honors as both squads posted over 3.00 cumulative grade point averages, the Loper women at a 3.610 and the men at a 3.499. The teams to qualify this year were 146 women’s programs and 122 men. Missouri Southern (women) and Florida Southern (men) led the country in team GPA.
It was another banner fall for Loper cross as both the men and women qualified for the NCAA Championships. At the national meet in Seattle, both squads finished in 22nd place with Luke Stuckey earning All-American honors.
