UNK Soccer: Four Lopers Named H.M. All-MIAA

Spring Exhibition Season Begins March 2023

Kearney, Neb. – Four members of the Nebraska Kearney women's soccer team have been named 2022 honorable mention All-MIAA. The league's 12-head coaches vote on the makeup of the team and cannot vote for their own players.

Representing UNK this year are defenders Raegan Downham (Cheyenne, Wyo.) and Dolcie Hanlon (Grand Junction, Colo.), midfielder Cammie Davis (Wichita, Kan.) and forward Emma Middleton (Springfield). Davis and Middleton earn their first all-league honor while Downham and Hanlon are now two-time All-MIAA picks. In the recently completed regular season, Middleton (Platteview H.S.) led UNK in shots (19) and shots on goal (eight). She was one of seven Lopers to appear in all 18 games and one of five to reach 1,000 minutes (1,039). Next, Davis was second in both shots (13) and SOG (seven) while tying Downham and Hanlon in starts by field players (16). The Loper defense held eight opponents to one or no goals with Hanlon (1,522 minutes) and Downham (1,367 minutes) two of the stalwarts. They both appeared in all 18 games with Hanlon having three shots on goal and Downham getting off two shots. League champion Central Missouri had the Coach (Lewis Theobald) and Freshman and Offensive Player (Julia Kristensen) of the Year with Northwest Missouri winning the Co-Defensive (Letycia Bonifacio) and Keeper (Lily Ellis) of the Year. Finally, Joanie Westcoach of Emporia was the Co-DPOY. Davis is returning in 2023 for her "super" senior year with the others having multiple years to play. The Lopers will soon begin winter workouts with a spring season slated for March 2023. That schedule will be announced at a later date.
