UNK Soccer: Lopers Add Two D1 Transfers

Lopers Looking to Replace Large Senior Class

Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska Kearney women's soccer head coach Rob Breton announced today that Katie Pagel and Rachel Warrick have transferred into the program and are going through winter workouts. These are the first recruits to date for the Lopers who had a nine-member senior class in 2022. UNK will continue to add players this winter and spring.

Pagel (North Dakota State) is a 5-5 defender from Aurora, Colo., who has two years of eligibility remaining. Warrick prepped at Lincoln Southeast and is a 5-5 midfielder. She took a redshirt season at Drake this past fall. UNK soccer's previous D1 transfers include Meaghan Pasbrig (UNLV) and Caitlin Rerucha (Western Illinois). For the NDSU Bison, Pagel appeared in 11 games with three starts over two seasons. A member of the 2022 Summit League Honor Roll, she was part of a program that won 11 games and tied four others. She was a four-year starter at Cherokee Trail, earning Class 5A honorable mention all-state honors as a senior. Setting a new school-record for goals by a defender, she helped the Cougars make two state tournament trips and win 25 games over the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Finally, Pagel played for Real Colorado during the club season.

Warrick was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Knights. Her play helped Southeast finish as the 2021 Class A state runners up and win district, league and city titles that spring. A team co-captain, Warrick was a two-time Academic All-State pick who was tabbed all-city and all-conference as well. In the offseason, she played for Gretna Elite Academy ECNL. The Lopers spring season begins in March with the exhibition schedule to be announced.
