UNK Track: Lopers Home Friday Afternoon

Final Weekend of the Regular Season

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney track and field team has its final home indoor meet this Friday with the annual Loper Tune Up.

The small, non-team scoring meet will also feature Nebraska Wesleyan and a few other student-athletes from area schools.

Field events begin at 3 p.m. with running starting at 5:15 and wrapping about 6:00. Live results and a live stream via The MIAA Network is available. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for youths ages 11-8 with UNK students/youths 10 & under getting in for free.

A large group of UNK runners are also in Lincoln on Friday for the annual Nebraska Tune Up. That meet begins at noon and runs until around 6:30 p.m.

On the current Division II National List Wes Ferguson (Fremont) is second in the 800, Luke Stuckey (McCool Junction) is 18th in the mile, the distance medley relay team which includes both Ferguson and Stuckey is ranked fourth with Loper field events paced by high jumpers Brayden Sorensen (2nd) and Brianna Russell (21st), throwers Alex Goracke (12th/weight throw), Evan Prohaska (17th/weight throw) and Lily Novacek (22nd/weight throw) and vaulter Alex Homan (19th).
